Design talk with The Champ.
Had a little meeting today with the current World Champ of surfing, Mick Fanning. All around good guy and insane surfer. As a designer, we're always pumped to have our athletes show an interest in product. Look for a killer footwear piece for this guy in the seasons to come, designed by yours truly...
Also had him sign my autograph board for my wall, along with Rob Machado's signature. In a few years this will hopefully cover a year's worth of college tuition, books, or parking tickets for some lucky child...
...or a new toy for myself.

"HASTA LA MUERTE" OPENING NIGHT
My homeslice Juan has been tearing up the art scene here in SD for a while now. Recently, he had a show in North Park and, as usual, KILLED IT! I was unable to go but was fortunate enough to get a private pre-screening ealier in the day by the man himself. Check the goods on his blog Tocayo, or his facespace. He also is a beast of pitcher on the diamond, fear him if you're ever facing him in the box. Enjoy his pics of his show!

Old roomies.

With James Alger (One Drop reggae band) and Emmy.

Exist's wall.

Continuation...

Exist's work (I bought that beast on the left)

Exists work

I wonder if Will and Emmy are texting each other. There is
Matt and Christy in the forefront. Holding it down.

Recycled Cardboard Harley Davidson

Is there anything that can’t be made out of paper? Be it a useful disposable omelet pan or something more decorative like the paper Freedom Gundam we had reported on earlier, it seems like paper can be rendered into everything. And what’s next? A car? A building perhaps? Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, cardboard boxes have been transformed into a visual replica of the iconic Americana mode of transportation, the Harley Davidson.
Kenny Scott couldn’t bear the thought of cardboard boxes going to waste, so he decided to give them a new life and mold them into a life-size replica of a Harley Davidson ride. Everything down to the spokes and wheels have been mimicked to a near pinpoint precision. It comes as no surprise that the paper Harley built out of cardboard, paper glue and craft knife won best in show at the University of Central Lancashire’s end of the year exhibition. via: Auto Motto
